Unfortunately this is something that will be very difficult for me to help you with as I have not installed NW on XP in a very long time… Please go to http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/forums and create a new thread or post – The community is very helpful and you should get the help that you need there.

Hi David,

When i tried to install the SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.0 TRIAL, i got the following error message…

“An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR1 including Enhancement Package 1 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :uncaught exception: modlib.jslib.caughtException: Caught ESyException in Modulecall: ESAPinstException: error text undefined. (in script unknown, line 0: ???)). You can now:
Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
Choose View Log to get more information about the error.
Stop the option and continue with it later.
Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/NW701/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL/.”

I already installed the java version 1.4.2 as well as installed a loop bacl adapter..

I am using a Win XP system with SP2

Kindly assist me on the way forward.

I’m new to SAP and have installed the 7.01 Trial Version. I used your tips you’ve provided in “Enable Transport System on Netweaver 7.01 Trial”. Your explanation is to the point and very easy to understand. I’ve been working in IT for long time and really impressed in a way you’re representing the articles.

I’m trying to test the wdt_quiz application from se80. It comes up with the page where username and password is disabled and clicking logon button doesn’t do anything. Please let me know what do I need to test the application. I tried to follow steps on http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2527, but these instructions are not helpful when comes to “Create Certificate”.

Please help me…Thank you in advance!!!

As a matter of interest, I have now successfully installed the Netweaver Trial 7.01 ABAP stack on my Windows 2003 RC2 Server. I had no problems at all… I hope you have had the same luck!

I get an unknown error when trying to activate/save the modified profile (tried to increase the no. of batch processes to 2), do you have any tips here?

Hi John,

Thanks for the great feedback – I hope it helps you along your way… I am about to install Netweaver 7.01 on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 – Looking at the supported operating systems there should be no problems as Win2003 is one of them. I have previously installed on Windows XP and Vista – both worked. Vista took a little more time, but the newer releases of Netweaver fully support even Vista.

SAP has really done a great job at listening to the community’s needs with regards to trial software.
